I haven't had a crush for years, but I have a crush on you. It's not a huge crush, but it's there, and I feel sad every time I think about it. I shouldn't do, but my pulse quickens when I see you and I try not to stutter.

Is it love? I don't know. I suppose I never will, as I can't tell you about it. If we were single, I'd have asked you out when we first met, although you'd probably have had the good taste and sense to turn me down. At least this way I'll never be rejected by you, and I can think about what might have been if things were different.

My partner doesn't believe in Valentine's Day, so I haven't sent or received a Valentine's card in years. So this year, I'm dedicating Valentine's Day to you, Jo, with deepest affection.

When we first met I thought you were utterly gorgeous but completely unobtainable. As I've been getting to know you, and been proved clearly very wrong about that latter part, I've found out that you are so much more than just a beautiful man. Again you won't know about this. I've enjoyed getting to know you, enjoyed that teenage thrill of looking out for each other while at a fest. I'm glad we stopped. A sign of maturity.
