Things never seem to flow as easily as one would wish, and never i admit have i been someone swift to adapt, someone swift to act. And my word i do know has lost the shine it once had, tarnished through trial and time. But always have i prophessed simple facts, that perhaps you wished not to ear, nor to believe.

Now, as you witness, am i not the sole one to speak such words, to point out how wonderful you are. The impact you leave in one's life and thoughts, the pleasure even your simple presence brings to any. All these words i spoke, all are proven true by those close to you.

I'm lying here on my bed, having just been made to feel, as so often in the past -
Miserable, small, stupid, worthless.
Like I shouldn't even bother, because I'll fail
Like everything I touch turns bad.
Like it's all my fault.
Tense and anxious and hurt inside.
Miserable.

And it occurs to me, that when I'm with you
I don't feel *any* of those things.
You don't make me feel stupid.
You make me feel as if I'm actually worth something, as if I'm worth caring about.
Like maybe I could even attempt to do things, and not automatically fail because I'm stupid.
You don't make me feel that everything I do will be wrong.
You make me dare to hope that, maybe
I can just be me, and that it will be okay.

It's actually really hard to stop believing
That I'm stupid, useless and worthless after all this time, and
I'm not sure that I succeed very well.

But when you look at me I don't feel like that.
I feel that anyone who's worthy of being looked at like that, must be worth something.
There are still days when I really have no idea what you see in me.
But whatever it is, you make the biggest difference to my life.
You seem to believe in me, even when I'm not sure I believe in myself.
And knowing you care gives me hope.
